We just set up a website for Cuppa Swing, the community dance in Newark, Delaware, which we started because there were a lot of dancers living in and around Newark, Delaware in the summer, and we wanted to dance locally when the University of Delaware was not in session. We are hoping to branch out more and create a community dance that draws people in beyond those associated with UD.

We're trying to create a similar character to the Lindy and Blues dances in Philadelphia, on a smaller scale. It's a great space for this sort of dance...cozy, but enough room for Lindy, a great floor, and conveniently tasty as the coffee shop, Saxby's, offers great cold drinks and baked goods.

Our first dance, even with minimal publicity, was a massive success, and we've decided to have them roughly every other week during the summer. If there is enough interest, they may become weekly. If you live on the Delaware side of the Philly area, or even if you don't, consider coming out! There are already some people coming from Philly so carpools may be a good option!

Our next dance is Friday, June 25, 2010, 7-10PM; more info is on the website! Last week we had a blues party after the dance, and we may have one again! Enjoy!
